NI Conservatives’ co-chair, Trevor Ringland, has welcomed Treasury figures which show that 125,000 people in Northern Ireland will benefit from the new married couples transferable allowance, in 2015 / 16.
‘The values of marriage are give and take, support and sacrifice - they are values that we need more of in this country”, Trevor observed.
‘That’s why the Conservatives in government are backing marriage. Our £1000 marriage tax allowance will help 125,000 hard-pressed couples in Northern Ireland to keep more of their own money.”
‘NI Conservatives are on the side of every married couple, as well as civil partners. Love is love, commitment is commitment and these values are being recognised in our tax system.’
