NI Conservatives’ justice spokesman, Julian Robertson, has described the death of policewoman, Constable Philippa Reynolds, in Londonderry at the weekend as “heartbreaking and a tragic waste of a young life”.
“My deepest sympathies go out to her family, friends and colleagues”, Julian said. “The circumstances of the young constable’s death must be very hard to take. She was out serving her community and keeping people safe. To be killed because of a collision with a stolen car is just a very tragic waste.”
“The incident demonstrates that the job which police officers do can be very dangerous. As a society we should be grateful that we have dedicated professionals like Constable Reynolds serving in our communities.”
