NI Conservatives spokesman, Bill Manwaring, expressed disgust after a bomb was found near a primary school in West Belfast yesterday.
“This incident demonstrates yet again that there is still a tiny, fanatical minority which is determined to force their fear and hatred on the people of Northern Ireland”, Bill observed. “This device, which was viable, caused enormous disruption for thousands of people, including children at four primary schools, but it also had the potential to kill and injure indiscriminately.”
“It was a crazed, cowardly and hate-filled act to bring this bomb unto the streets of West Belfast. The people who did so clearly can’t accept that our communities have moved on and are determined to devastate and disrupt the lives of everyone in Northern Ireland.”
“Their attempts to drag us backwards won’t be successful. Anyone with information about this incident, or anyone who saw anything unusual in the area yesterday morning should contact their local PSNI station - it is important that those of us who want to bring a complete end to such actions do our utmost to help the police.”
