The North Down Conservative Association held its annual barbeque at the museum in Bangor on Saturday evening. Association chairman, Paul Leeman, welcomed the secretary of state, Owen Paterson, who reiterated the Conservative party’s continuing commitment to Northern Ireland.
“It was an enjoyable evening for all concerned”, Paul commented, “the event was exceptionally well attended, the food was excellent and even the weather obliged us by staying dry”.
“It was good to see the secretary of state and his wife Rose joining us once again. Owen Paterson is a loyal friend of the Association here in North Down and by attending he demonstrated yet again his commitment to the Conservative party here in Northern Ireland.”
“The large turn-out of members and friends was really encouraging. It just goes to show that the Northern Ireland Conservatives are in rude health here in the North Down constituency.”
