Following the General Election, Party Chairman Lord Feldman launched a review of the Conservative Party organisation and appointed a panel to assist the process.
The first phase of the review is a programme of widespread consultation with members and supporters across the UK.
Members are invited to attend a discussion with members of the panel Deborah Toon and Ian Sanderson to be held on Saturday 14 November 2015 at 10.30 venue at Ramada Plaza, 117 Milltown Rd, Shaws Bridge, Belfast BT8 7XPI
The Panel’s terms of reference are:
1. To review the viability of the Organisation and its fitness for purpose in 2015 and beyond.
2. To consult with all Party stakeholders to gain the widest possible input and reflection of views.
3. To recommend to the Party Board such organisational changes as will meet the current and
future needs of the Conservative Party organisation and any consequential constitutional changes that may be required.
The guiding principles of the consultation are:
The overriding question at all times should be “Does our organisation improve/ maximize our chances of winning elections?” It is important that it is not focused solely on the next General Election as there is an obligation to retain a structure that is more enduring than that. It follows from this principle that our current organisation should be challenged according to whether it meets this benchmark and any changes should include enough definition that their effectiveness can be measured against it.
Suggested principal themes for the consultation
· Purpose of the Party organisation
· Membership & Activist Engagement
· Organisational Structure
· Deployment of Resources
· Candidate Selection
Any other organisation or structural issues that members would wish to raise.
