Conservative Party spokesman, Frank Shivers, has hailed the success of Northern Ireland’s technology firms, after 11 local businesses were named among the fastest growing tech companies on the island of Ireland.
“This is a vital, vibrant sector, which is plugging into the highly skilled workforce we have here in Northern Ireland”, Frank commented. “This year eleven firms made it into the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 awards, including larger companies, but also smaller ventures, which are growing quickly. They provide a great example, because they’re creating highly skilled jobs and bringing money into our economy through innovation.”
“From a North Down perspective, many of these firms operate right on our doorstep, in the NI Science Park and other hubs, which is great for local businesses and means our constituency is a natural place to live for tech employees. There are also many wonderful tech companies operating in Bangor, Holywood and elsewhere. They have a great incentive to make it unto this list.”
“Congratulations to all the businesses which made it on to this year’s Fast 50 list. They are an inspiration and they demonstrate the importance of making sure that Northern Ireland has great IT skills, as well as a culture of enterprise and innovation, in order to compete with the world.”
