The Prime Minister addressed Northern Ireland Conservatives at the Stormont Hotel in East Belfast, during the first engagement of his short visit to the province. Vice Chairmen, Tim Lewis and Paul Megarity, met David Cameron and Tim introduced the Conservative leader to local activists.
The Prime Minister gave a short address, reaffirming his commitment to deliver mainstream UK politics to Northern Ireland. "We're providing the logistical support with a campaign office and a full-time employee", he observed, "we must ensure that the Conservative voice is properly represented in Northern Ireland".
Local party members were then free to question the Prime Minister, with the discussion ranging over politics both local and national.
