NI Conservatives co-chair, Trevor Ringland, has encouraged everyone with information about incidents which took place over the weekend, to help the police. He also said that law-breakers should not be allowed to deflect attention from all the positive things which are happening in Northern Ireland.
“A usual, a tiny minority of troubles makers have commanded a great deal of media coverage this weekend”, Trevor noted. “The attack on a police patrol in County Tyrone, the petrol bomb thrown at an Alliance Party office and the shooting of a 15 year old in Coleraine are all absolutely deplorable. They are each a sign that there are still people within our society determined to pull us back toward hatred and violence.”
“They will not prevail. I would encourage anyone with information which might help the police to investigate any of these incidents to bring it forward. The perpetrators will face justice and they will go before the courts. There are so many positive stories across our communities and so many people who want to get on with building a successful Northern Ireland, and a tiny minority cannot be allowed to hold them back.”
