The Conservative Party in Northern Ireland has dismissed Sinn Fein renewed calls for a Border Poll.
"It tells you all you need to know about Sinn Fein that they predictably called yet again for a Border Poll. They care not about the economic situation, the waiting lists in the health service or the need to reform our education system. They simply latch on every opportunity to push identity politics and to sow division"
They were commenting after Sinn Fein used reported comments of exchanges between Theresa May and Conservative backbencher Jacob Rees Mogg to call for a Border Poll.
"We have no doubt that the Prime Minister is right to avoid a divisive debate about the border at this time. And this position has been confirmed by the Secretary of State,"
"The pressing issue facing Northern Ireland at this moment is the question of the absence of devolution and the serious damage being done to the economy by the failure by the DUP and Sinn Fein to do the job they were elected to do."
