Northern Ireland Conservatives will outline their plans for the future tomorrow, at a launch event in Belfast’s Metropolitan Arts Centre (MAC). A new party will be formed, which is autonomous on devolved issues and has its own board and leader.
Northern Ireland Conservatives’ chairman, Irwin Armstrong, said that the event marks an important day in Northern Ireland politics. “We are launching a fresh, pro-Union, centre-right party, which is proudly and distinctively Northern Irish, but remains a full part of the UK Conservative Party”, Irwin explained. “We’ll be explaining at the event the new approach which we’re bringing to Northern Ireland politics”.
“We hope that as many people as possible will join our party, in order to help make Northern Ireland a better place”.
