NI Conservatives’ spokesperson, Mark Brotherston, has welcomed the suggestion that the Northern Regional College could get a brand new campus, in Coleraine.
“The existing sites in Ballymoney and Coleraine could be replaced by a state of the art campus”, Mark explained. “That would be a huge benefit to students, who can avail of modern facilities and all the opportunities which they afford. It means an opportunity for faculties to reassess their curricula in line with the modern job market and put young people in the best environment to acquire the skills which employers are seeking.”
“Belfast has benefited hugely from new campuses for the Metropolitan College, the E3 at Springfield Road and the innovative Titanic Quarter site. These plans for the Northern Regional College could be similarly good news for the North Coast and North Antrim. Having the latest facilities and liaising with industry allow colleges to equip students with the skills they need, and give Northern Ireland the best chance of competing on a world stage.”
